Looks good. How does the camera mount? Does it mount from a license plate frame in the back?

Good luck with the head unit, I have it in my other car and it's always freezing.

Sounds like you need to upload the latest firmware!

TipsZ 05-09-2009 11:33 AM

Does this head unit work with the controls on the steering wheel? Also, what about Blue Tooth to sync up with your phone?

Looks very nice, but how do you prevent someone from breaking the window and just taking everything if you go to the mall or go out to dinner? Just curious, I would love to do this......

i really dont use the steering wheel controls so i didnt get the PAC unit that makes the steering controls work for the volume. i personally like the "nob" to adjust the volume on the 6140 which is why i chose the 6140 over the 8120 which has no nob for the volume. and my phone which is a Samsung Behold works perfectly with the blue tooth. you can access the phonebook on the screen. sounds clear and the other person on the line hears me nice & clear.

i've had the unit for about a month and a half now and its been great

Thanks for the info!

Very nice!

Did you go back to the dealer for the install, or did you do it on your own? If you don't use the dealer for the install, will that invalidate your warranty?

The backup camera appears to work great. Given this car's limited rearview visibility, that looks like a worthwhile investment.

looks great, when I finally get the car this is the kind of set up I am looking for.

nice job

A few questions about this install:

-Anyone know how to have it setup with the steering wheel controls?

-Does this void warranty?

-For the rear view camera, do you have to modify anything (cutting, etc.) or did you find an easy fitting for it?

-Can the sat/gps antennas be located internally so they are not visible without ruining reception.

Thanks!

1. PAC Switch
2. Unless proven to be the root cause of an electrical problem, then no.
3. The camera AK370 uses fits pretty flush. You do however have to trim down one of the license plate lights to allow the camera wiring to fit through and 2 screws are used to hold the camera in place.
4. The gps antenna can be located anywhere you please. Direct Line Of Sight will allow for maximum reception.

I still haven't got around to installing all my components yet. The army keeps me busy :p I'll post pics later when I get all my stuff installed
