You're going to have to give some context to that one. There are a lot of things called a crossover; crossover cable, crossover suv, crossover software, crossing over with John Edwards ...

Told you I was a noob! lol
I was refering to when you have component speakers. I think the crossover is something to do with connecting the tweeters or mids to the main speaker? In on eof Jeff's installations he had one mounted inside the kick panel on each side of the car.
Thanks,
Willie

Ah ok.

The speaker crossover is basically an audio filter. It filters the low frequencies from being delivered to the tweeters, and the high frequencies from being delivered to the mid-range. Modular full-range speakers have a built in crossover, but if you have separate tweeters (typical in a car) then you will have a 2-way or 3-way crossover. Crossovers are tuned to specific frequencies depending on the optimal frequencies handled by each speaker. The wire comes out of the amplifier into the crossover, and then comes out of the individual crossover outputs to the individual speakers.
