Z enclosures questions

Hey guys,
I was wondering will a JL W7 fit n a z enclosure box? And if so will it sound ok? Since it might not be with the recommend specs..

Thanks in advance

Bump anyone?

looks like the mounting depth of the 10" sub is 8" and the 12" sub is 9.5"

The zenclosure single and dual 10" mounting depth is 8" based on a 6.125" diameter magnet up to a depth of 9" of depth with a 5" diameter magnet

The single 12" mounting depth is 10" based on a 7" diameter magnet

and the upfire box in single or dual config for 8" & 10" subs has 8" of depth and 7" of depth for a 12" sub all based on a 6" diameter magnet

so you need to get some exact mesaurements on them subs, i was just a little board so i pulled the info from the sites for a rough estimate

also thats quite the boomin sub there it seems, you consider anything else? something a little smaller and less powerful. Ive had 2-12" alpine type S's in a sealed, the a ported and 2-12" type R's in a ported box before in other cars and they were awesome. I have Sundown Audio SA-10's in my Z now and they're perfect in my opinion.

Thanks for the help man
I just wanted to get one 10 inch sub and I thought a w7 would be worth the bump for its size =p I also loved the way the z enclosure box looks and where it sits... I really appreciate the suggestions you gave + rep for you

You can space out your 10w7 and fit it in the enclosure if you had to. I am sure if you called them they can give you the answer or accomodate for that woofer. Keep in mind 10w7 will take a smaller subwoofer opening then the average. so you don't wantt o order just a regular box for a 10".. W7 also will need a thicker baffle to mount on.

I have a 10w7 in a zenclosures box. i ordered a 12" box cut to fit a 10" sub, it fits fine. I wouldnt recommend putting a w7 in that box though. I took mine out of a properly sized ported box to put it in the zenclosures and it sounds awful. The 10w7 really needs a huge ported box to sound right.

thank you.

this is what ive been looking for.

I have two jl 10w7s sitting in my room. I'll look for a smaller sub... most likely a nice little jl or spend the doll hairs and get a sick focal sub.
