Used to be extremely labor intensive finding the right set. But now they're plug and play too!

I've been doing a bit of reading on this modification and I'm a little confused about what "exactly" it does.
What I think I understand is that the modification tricks the navigation system's vehicle speed sensor into thinking the car is standing still so that you have full functionality of all of the features and menus that would normally be locked out while in motion. The downside to this appears to be that the navigation (map or route) is not updating while the module is in operation because it thinks the car is not moving. I thought that this mod was something that simply bypassed the startup warning screen and allowed full functionality of all menus and options while driving, a once and done "set-it-and-forget-it" modification, but it seems like it's still something that needs to be switched on and off unless I'm misunderstanding how it works. I'm just trying to understand if how this modification functions so I can decide if it's for me or not. My wants: - Bypass the Warning Screen without having to hit any buttons - Full access and operation of menus and options while driving - Otherwise, normal functionality of my GPS and navigation Not important to me: - Watching a DVD while driving
