Default Upgrade stock speakers help

So I have the stock speakers that come in the sport package (I think they sound terrible.) I have upgraded to a Kenwood DNX7140 and am looking for a basic speaker setup to replace the stock speakers.

I don't need anything crazy or top of the line, mainly just something good for the buck. Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone has any experience with the DNX7140.. When I had it installed I wanted it hooked up to the steering wheel (I had the PAC SWI-Jack) and the dude said the DNX7140 didn't have any ports to hook it up to the steering wheel, I thought he must have gotten that wrong because I could have sworn I've seen that others have done it.

Honestly, money isn't an issue I just don't want to be dumping it out if I don't need to. And thanks for the offer, on stuff like this though I always tend to buy new due to some bad experiences in the past.

Search for speakers, speaker recommendations, upgrading speakers, and a few others. This question has been asked in no way take offense to this just that there are plenty of threads here asking the same question.. The other recommending would require an external amp to sound good.

To say you some time mostly the recommendation to run off a head unit is the polk db's that are a direct fit and you still will have to run new speaker wires to the tweeters and woofers.

So, I'm terrible with car audio so pardon my ignorance but if I just wanted to replace the stock speakers then I could go with this:

Amazon.com: Alpine Type-R SPR-17S - Car speaker system - 110 Watt - 2-way - component - 6.5": Electronics

and if I wanted to run this type R sub:

http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SWR1243...3640911&sr=8-1

then I would need an amp such as this:

Amazon.com: Alpine MRP-M500 - Amplifier - 1-channel: Electronics

Does that sound about right?

From there you would just need to buy an amplifier wire kit, to run power from the battery to your amp, some form of a remote wire, rca wires to run from your deck to amp and so forth. Looks like a good setup with thats really what you want to go with.
