Integrating MacMini for tuning/entertainment
Does anyone have any recomendations of software to use when running a micro computer with touch display. I am helping a friend build his 370Z and we want to integrate a MacMini into the car and installing a touch display in the hole left by the lack of GPS. The installation and fabrication is not the problem. I am having a hard time finding software that will display all of the sensory information in addition to allowing for different tune loads. I don't want to start puting out the money for the hardware if it is going to be a while before we get the software side of it going. Thank you for any any information.
If this is posted in the wrong area please forgive me. I am new to the forum. |

Best bet would be to read some here: MP3Car.com
Most likely you will not be able to load tunes, but you should be able to read OBDII info if there is software.

im working on putting together a carputer in replace of my stock sounds, we will see if it happens
but here is a screen to drop in place of the radio... screen then you will need some sort of amp to output the sound sound output then if he has the bose system you have to rip everything out including speakers and replace them. im trying to utilize the bose system, so thats my only headache right now.

I appreciate the input. I might end up using that screen. I planned on keeping the stock Radio originally and just fabricating a screen to go in the hole above it but that mind end up a lot cleaner. I will keep posting as we put this together. Thanks for the input. Also I am looking into UpRev to see if it will do what I need it to. With the little time I have had to search lately I believe that it will work. Thanks again for your ideas.

You wont be able to tune with that screens resolution.
I have my carpc up and running and I think I'm about to swap out everything except the dc-dc invertor. Heres my pricelist on my build. |
