I Want My Speakers!
 

I know that none of the '09 Base Z's were given 4 speakers but the sales brochure for my '09 Base says I get 4 speakers (Touring gets 8 including 2 sub woofers). I know some experts say 2 front speakers are sufficient in our small Z cabin. Nevertheless, I have a call in to Nissan to demand two speakers to fill the 2 empty speaker cavities behind the parcel shelf. After they're installed, I'll decide if I prefer them on or off.
Have any other Base owners succeeded in getting 2 additional speakers from Nissan? I'd like to know for purposes of my negotiations with Nissan.
What arguments did anyone else get from their customer service rep?

you do get 4 speakers. 2 near the front windshield. and 1 on each of the side door.

im guessing you want the 2 speakers on the side of the seats?

Yep. You already got four. Note the tiny grills near your A-pillars.

Darn that pesky manual (that defines where the four speakers are).

The empty grills behind the seats are kind of bush league. I'm just going to pretend it's for weight savings, that way I'll feel better about it

Two subwoofers? I only have one which is on top of my spare.

No not subs, I should have been more clear. If you look closely, off the outside shoulder of each seat is a speaker grill set into the side of the car. In the Touring I believe it has 2 more component speakers, but in the base they are "blanks"

You do not really want or need rears there not needed in a small car like the z.

This is true. I feel like leaving the grills there is kind of bush league. I understand mass production, etc, etc, but still to me it's like a huge blank switch. Luckily you have to know where to look

There are 2 sub in that "box".

for once i wish this time they included those rears...its in a better location than the 350z and i can utilize the stock speakers as part of a JBL MS8 logic 7 surround system...

oh well...
