Looking for good mid bass components
Gents,
I recently had a full JL speaker and amp system installed in my car (check my signature for my setup). My JL C5 650 components are a little lacking and I'm looking for a little more oomph in my mid bass. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a component system in the $300 to $500 dollar range that can handle 150 watts of continuous power and really hit to the point that if I wear to eliminate my subs that the mid bass could pick up the slack and I'd be satisfied. Your input is greatly appreciated!!

Maybe play with your settings on the amp, I have a feeling it is on high pass filter. Change it to full and see if that helps you but you may want to change all your EQ setting back to flat before this otherwise you may have a mountain of bass coming threw them.
If that does not help step up to Focal there tweeters may be a little brighter but there mids are great. Ir image dynamics CXS.

Thanks for the response back. I'll work with my installer to work through the adjustments (I would do it myself but the eq settings are difficult to reach). In terms of the iD's, would you consider them better than the JL's that I have. I would like to bridge the front two channels and push 150 watts to the ID's. Do you think they could handle it?

C5 should have pleanty of mid-bass.
Make sure they are in phase. Left and right. Make sure they are mounted proerly with an adapter. Use some sound deadening if it is not used. If still not satisfied. I would look into HERTZ AUDIO HSK165 or HSK165XL. Call me if you want I can help you with settings etc...
