badass...I love the stealth look you have in here. Not sure if i want two Subs, but i would love to mimic this with my one sub.

bigaudiofanat 07-10-2009 08:53 AM

You definitely do not need two subs in a car that size.

I agree. I had one 12" sub in my 350Z and it was insanely loud! Only 250 watts to boot as well. A second 12 would be beyond insane and would make your head implode. Well, not really but you get my point.

37Z 07-15-2009 10:18 PM

Door speakers

Why 6.5" round speakers in the door when the stock ones look like 6x9"?

FricFrac 07-25-2009 12:01 PM

6x9? I thought that was only in American vehicles.... at least that's the way it was back in the day....

bigaudiofanat 07-25-2009 02:10 PM

Or for the drilling out the door connectors. You could just use the factory wiring and save the hassle there is no reason not to use the factory wiring it is perfectly capable or handling the wattage that the speakers would be getting. Just make sure to bypass the factory crossover.

I am the owner of this vehicle and am putting it up for sale.. PM me if you are interested. 14k mileage.

KusoSama 08-10-2010 06:59 AM

Have you done any research into installing an 8" sub into the plastic between the storage bins behind the seats? So that the sub is pointing into the cabin and including an amp behind that in the location where there is foam to power everything?

KusoSama 08-10-2010 05:06 PM

Would love to see pics of where the tweeters were installed.

**EDIT**

Would the below locations work for tweeter placement?

come on man I already corrected myself on the youtube posting.. I knew it was coming. cameras do crazy things to your mind haha.

I took incubus out because it had crazy lighting on the dvd so it wasn't going to show up well with the cell phone cam.

sorry not selling the speakers, it's part of the package deal on the car.

Gmendez 11-01-2010 10:55 AM

Did you need spacers for the 6.5" in the doors? What size?

david712370 03-04-2011 04:26 PM

Jeff, I was working on my install and was wondering what you used to hold the cloth wrap on the car panel and pillar. I had used hot glue but it melted in the summer months. Also, did you have any trouble getting the mdf board into the trunk?

Thanks,
David

I am considering locating a pair of sub and a small amp in the location you mention above. I interested in the size of the JL 6" of 8" sub box(s) needed whether down firing or ported.

Appreciate it! Yeah it sounds amazing. Selling this bad boy to Carmax by the end of April if I don't find a buyer before then.

ZeeingAround 04-05-2011 03:38 PM

I don't see any pics of your car in your profile. Post some up. I was involved in CA for 16years. Nice job on the Z.

I dont have any pics of the exterior of the vehicle that aren't already shown. It's in prime condition and is a base pearl white. All the custom work is on the interior keeping the stock look aside from the nav/head unit.

why selling sweet install

shaun66 04-07-2011 09:41 AM

Kenwood DNX8120 has EQ and time correction in it. The car images and stages like crazy!

I haven't seen this model of a Kenwood HU in some time. Was it used? How well does the 8120 work for imaging the sound? Is their any comparable Kenwood HU with EQ and time correction in their current model line up?

No the head unit was brand new. The sound imaging is great, and I am not sure if there is another comparable Kenwood HU in the current line up because I haven't looked or followed it since my install.

srr2449 04-15-2011 06:36 PM

Current high offer on this vehicle is $23,200.00 and I am only taking offers until April 25th. The buyout price is $25k and I have title in hand so we can start closing asap.
