Screen un Cubby Area
 

Hi,

Has anyone installed a aftermarket screen in the cubby area?

I am about to. Just ordered a computer 8.9 inch touchscreen. I am looking for a spair dash center to rework to hold it. The idea is a web based menu to real time active suspension. Moving map GPS with weather and whatever else I can think up. Active radar jamming ....

are there aftermarket bezels or does everyone basically make their own?

I would love to see one of our sponsors come out a kit that would fit a 7inch monitor. Gotta believe the sizes are pretty standard on most displays.

Edit: or just include the 7inch monitor as part of the kit..

If you get a screen and the outer casing close enough to the stock opening, you could probably install one and bondo or fiberglass it in to make it look factory. However keep in mind a lot of the options newer head units offer can do things like gps speed, engine status, and other things. Which may turn out to be a cheaper way to go.

All the ones so far have been custom one off jobs. I am looking into having mine redone and seeing how easy it would be to get it for others or supply them with the parts necessary.

That is what I'm looking at but with a touchscreen loptop.

I am also interested in adding a Screen to my 40th. I had no idea it would be so complicated...I figured they would just sell kits for them.

I may start if I can get a bezel manufactured for it.

i donno, maybe CF element can fabricate an original CF one for that cubby...

ok, i am looking into getting a power acoustik screen as well. i want to run an xbox 360 to it though, or something of that nature. in order to do this, would i just run the yellow wire directly to the screen, then the white and red wires to my pioneer x710bt headunit?

or......would i be able to run all 3 connections to the screen, then is there an audio out that i can run to the headunit? please help, trying to get this figured out! also, how much for your guys' custom installs for this?
