HTC Thunderbolt and Bluetooth

I have the 40th Anniversary Edition. Just bought the HTC Thunderbolt phone and I can not get it to stay connected to the stock radio bluetooth in the Z! Anyone else have that problem? I did a general online search and it looks like alot of people are having problems with the new HTC connecting to various bluetooth devices. I called HTC and they said the Thunderbolt is not list as being supported on the Nissan website. Well, DUH. It IS a brand new model phone, but isn't bluetooth supposed to be a standard? I had no trouble using my Motorola Droid. Anyone out there find a fix or work-around for the problem? I know you guys are smart,...

HTC gets no love in the phone world. I have a G2. I had issues in my G so I didn't even bother with nav in the Z.

Most android devices in my experience are hit and miss when it comes to the Nissan Nav systems.

My droid2 will connect fine, however, I have never been able to transfer my contacts to the cars phonebook.

Same thing here I have a HTC Incredible and I am able to connect it no issue but cannot get my phonebook transfered over I think I have that issue beacuse I only hve the stock Touring Radio no Nav system.

I believe you need the stock Nav with the hard drive in order to store the phonebook.

I checked android fourm, there are some discussions...I didn't read to find out whether there was a solution...

I don't know about storing the phonebook in the car...maybe the Nav option does that...but my Touring package Bluetooth system connects reliably to my iPhone and accesses the phone's address book. I don't know about the Android phones, but that car couldn't use the address book on my Blackberry. My guess is that some implementations of the Android OS don't work with the Nissan Bluetooth system.

Same here...I'm able to "access" my contacts as well, but someone said something about storing them which I believe would require the hard drive in the nav package. With that said, I think accessing the contacts are too dam slow and I don't even bother anymore and just dial manually and strictly use the bluetooth while talking. If you have similar names, you have to fight the system to recognize which person you meant. Once you get past that, you then have to designate which number. Too might time. They need to team up with Parrot and let them build the bluetooth systems into the cars.

My wife's 2009 Murano doesn't have Nav, but it does have its own phone book separate from the one stored in her iPhone.

I actually have no problem with my thunderbolt and my bluetooth. It sometimes takes an extra 60 seconds to connect vs my prior iphone and blackberry, but zero problems as far as dropping connection. And not all bluetooths are equal. There are numerous diff versions such as bt 1.2, 2.0, 2.1, 2.1&edr, 2.2 and 3.0

Justin1686, have you been able to download your phonebook? I never have been able to do this since I got my Thundebolt

I have a Motorola Atrix on Android 2.2; connects and holds fine, contacts are easily accessed BUT the Nissan hands-free mic is absolutely un-usable! I can hear my callers perfectly, but they can't hear me. They keep saying I'm breaking up; they get bits and pieces of what I say but we cannot even complete a call far enough to say and be understood saying "i'll call you back".
Nissan did some kind of "update" but it's no better. Anyone else having issues with the on-board mic?

The microphones on my Z and on my wife's Murano both work pretty well.

Zero issues between my HTC Thunderbolt and Pioneer X920BT

i have a Thunderbolt and 40th Anni. and everything is groovy... once in a while the bluetooth doesn't automatically connect, and i just hit the phone button on the steering wheel once and it connects.
