Default Speaker install advice....polks on the Stock HU

Ok, i know there have been many discussions regarding which is better to install first, a new HU, or speakers, to which i say, decision made!

That being said, my speakers are blown so i got some polk db6501s that will be ran off the stock HU for the time being, if they blow, then they blow and im out $100.

Ok, I will do a DIY for the speaker install but need some assistance.

1. What is the best way to wire the crossover to the HU?
what size wire to run, should i cut off the existing speaker connection and solder the same gauge wire, ect...

2. is it possible to bridge both the front and back speaker inputs from the HU to obtain say.... 6watts rms?

3. where should run the speaker wire to the xover?

btw.... if someone already has a DIY, please link me to it. I wasn't able to find it.
