bluetooth microphone location

Can someone with a factory bluetooth system tell me where the microphone is located. I was wondering if it is in the pod that has the interior lights at the front of the headliner. Thanks.

Thanks. I see two vented areas, one on either side of the lights, 3 slits to each vent, and a smaller single hole on the right. By chance do you know which it is? I am wondering on an aftermarket install, if I can stealth the mic for the phone there. Thanks.

Sorry I'm not sure which vent it is. I'm just sure the mic is located in that compartment because there was a time when my girlfriend screamed into it and almost blew out my friend's ear on the other end.

LOL thanks, found it burried in the owners manual. It is the vent to the left of the interior light with the 3 slits. Now comes the 64 thousand dollar question, is the microphone built-in as a part of this light pod, and there, but not hooked up on non-bluetooth cars? Or do they "add" the mic on touring models. Seems like it would be easier to just manufacture one pod assembly. I may have to look into removing this to check it out. I assume it snaps out to replace burnt out light bulbs.

I'm more interested in what the heck that little single light, in that pod assemble, the single opening that is on the right hand side and glows at night. What is that?

Might it be the light that shows the alarm is activated? Now you have my curiousity up :-)

I'm thinking that has something to do with the auto dimming mirror function.

OMG guys it lights up the interior at night so you can find your stuff in the car with out distracting the driver... Go sit in your car at night turn the car on and watch it come on and you will see everything has an orange hue over it. :D

It's called "ambient Lighting". Every car from Lexus, BMW, MB, etc. has gone to using it to create a soft glow in the vehicle at night. Put your hand on your shifter at night and see how it looks like it came out of a nuclear reactor.
