What is a rolex (sp) speaker connection? It connects the speakers from either the amp or H.U. to the factory speakers.

Molex Connections
I think your right about the Molex (i.e. not Rolex) connector! Yeah, I thought that was strange too!
How is the molex connected to the after market (i.e. Focal K2P) componet speakers? I assume that the existing molex in the doors may be replaced. |

Once you take it apart you should see a open space, you have to feed the wire through that spot, i think there is a pic of this in my album, but it is easier if you can unclip both sides from the car, at least i find it to be...

Molex Connection Run
I know of the molex connector in the door panel; but, where would a new molex connect to (i.e. back of the Kenwood headunit or amp or a new molex connecting with the molex in the doors)? Any advantage? I am familar with the door molex having reviewed SlikNik's video.

Your talking about the Scosche adapters for your Head Unit to the Z factory radio harness. You need two one for your power, ignition etc, and one for the antenna. This allows you to connect your new head unit without having to cut up your factory wire harness. All your speakers will need new speaker wire as the factory wire is far too small, so then all factory molex speaker connectors will be just left unhooked.

I c what you mean, yes as Juleous mentioned there is a harness you can use between the aftermarket HU and the stock wire for power ground, ect, but to get good wire from the amp to the speakers/X-over you will have to run new wire and go through the molex connector in the door as shown in the pics.

the stock non bose may just have a little cap on the tweeter, the wires will then end up running off of the mid, which is hooked up to the deck., best thing is to just run new wire to all of the speakers ect.
As for the best connection, solder if you can, some of the high end speakers will have set screws on the mid, so it depends on the speaker too. |
