CarPC's are always a good install because they give you a lot of freedom for features. They're a bit involved, and knowing computer hardware is needed. Have a look at the 350Z installs over at mp3car.com to get an idea of what you could do.

In theory with the door removed, you could permanently flush-mount a GPS screen and something like this: Informeter. |

So basically, something like: Magden M.1b + Lilliput 7" touch-screen LCD + Garmin GVN-53. The Garmin unit doesn't take touch-screen input though, only remote-control input. Who makes a GPS module like that GVN-53 that does touch-screen on a remote LCD? |

The really annoying thing is that the door on the binnacle doesn't slide into the console like the 350Z did, meaning you'll probably had to remove the door if you put anything there. 350Z computer installers loved that because it was essentially a free hide-away for the expensive looking computer.

Going from memory, pics of the behind the cubby taken appart, I don't think there is enough depth behind there to make it a sliding cover.
The leather of the cover is kind of growing on me. I am entertaining the idea of just getting a portable 4.3" gps unit and putting it in the cubby and keeping it open when using the gps.

theres like pics in japan of people putting LCDS where the cubby is! ill try n find them..but I think its a good investment to put an LCD/navi in the cubby..because soo many people want aftermarket then the blah navi from nissan. Plus with the whole aftermarket in the stock radio..u have to configure the controls on the steerwheel..and i dont want to mess with that. I just want navi where the cubby is..nothing like all in one crap..
