Power Wire Route with Manual Transmission
I am inquirying on the route to snake a power wire through the firewall for those that have a 370z with manual transmission.
I viewed the sticky in the audio section; however, it was for a 370Z with an auto transmission. |
its simple. remove the plastic cover covering the battery, as well as the part that connects to the windshield. you will see a black grommet where all the wires come through. you can choose to either unwrap the wiring or poke a small hole in the gromment and push the wire through. the wire will come out in the passenger side of the car right above the glovebox. shove a light in there and you will see it. ive done audio installs on many cars, and the Z was by far the easiest to get the wire through the firewall.

As above, then just follow the dorr sill all the way to the back.

4 AWG will fit no problem, i have 0 going through mine, and no proximity problems, it's not a signal wire, just power, so your fine.

The one place that it does not matter whether you have manual or auto is behind the battery. I have installed it there for all my installs with no problems. There is a grommet there cut off the tape and run it threw there no problem. Plenty of pictures on it in my installs thread below VVVVV

I see from SlikNik video, he snaked the power wire to the rear of the door sill, then across to a existing hole in the carpert located under the center counsole, to the front of the hatch area. Also, what length for the RCA wires if the amp is located in the front of the rear hatch? |

RCA run

I already have a plastic wire loom the run the RCA wires through. I guess the RCA wires would need to be approx. 12 feet in length if run down the center console into the front of the rear hatch area with some slack. Anyone run the RCA wires through the center console area? IF so, is 12 foot long RCA wires too long or short? |
RCA & speaker wire run length
[QUOTE=37Z;995565]I sound dampin' the side panels already which the side panals were easy to remove and reattached. I would seam the RCA run down the center console would be a more direct route.

The speaker componet crossovers will be installed on eihter size of the amp. |
12 ft should be fine, i ran my speaker wire down the center.
i would run a 14 AWG from the Xovers to the speakers. |
