I don't mean to be harsh but it is just not going to produce an accurate sound. Yes it will fit in that cubby but... well you know what I mean.

Thanks for your opinion ... but I don't think you know what I am looking for here. I want something that I can fit into the car and maintain the interior specifications. I am not going to go to stereo competitions and I want to maintain the little storage area that is in the Z. I don't want a huge overwhelming box in the hatch to where I look over my shoulder and that is all I see. Theft is also another concern. I have read review after review that these bass tubes are more than adequate for 90% of what people listen to ... and probably 100% of what I will be listening to. I don't consider it harsh, it is just your opinion.
Thanks! |

I do agree with some comments the others that have posted, as the sub fits and fills the low-freq void, but also it leaves a lot to be desired. |

Hey all,
I recently purchased the Polk DB6501 speakers, and will be also ordering a Pioneer 4300DVD unit to go along with them. Ive been looking at some of the sub installs, and I have to say, this one in particular caught my attention because of the "stealth" factor. However, I was initially thinking about getting a separate amp and sub, the main reason being I would want the amp to also power the component speakers in the system (basically turning a 4 x 75 into a a 2+1 amp). What are my options in terms of being able to completely hide these components, though? I know the amp would possibly fit below the seat, or in the space were Mike installed his bazooka, but, what sub / enclosure would you recommend that could maybe be hidden in the spare tire space? Im not looking for crazy amounts of bass, just looking for the system to sound decent. Thanks in advance. |

I would reccommend what I am going to do at some point(when i get the funds).
Im going to create a sub box that will fit in the spare tire and use either a 8" or slim 10" sub. There are a few options to place your amp, im still undecided on mine. If you have the time and the means, you might want to consider doing something like what listed below. Did-it-myself custom box for 370z (56k beware) 10" sub in spare tire! |
