How did you get that Bazooka to fit? I took some measurements and at 8" high ... it doesn't work in either direction. Does it stick up some above the foam level in your car? I think this is an awesome place for a subwoofer, but I would like it to completely fit under the carpet without sticking up if possible.

Thanks!

I saw Mike's bazooka install, so I went ahead and bought my own. Once it was wired up, I just cut the foam and plopped the sub down in there...the carpet fits perfectly, and you can't even tell there is anything in the trunk at all. You kind of have to twist the sub back and forth to get it to wedge down in the hole, but it is not hard and once it is down there and supported by the remaining foam, it will not move at all.

I have been used to ported 12" subs pushing around 600 watt rms prior to this sub. I have to say, there are certain songs that make me wish I had spent more on a stealth box with a full sized sub, but honestly for 95% of the music I listen to this bazooka is PLENTY. I got it for $190 shipped, so you cant beat that price for an amp+sub+box (plus weighs very little)...especially if you want stealth. Also, I consider this cheaper sub as a health plan for my ears

It is pretty amazing, it is almost like that size of Bazooka was made specifically for the car! Did you go with the 100 watt amplified or the 250 watt amplified bazooka tube? They both look to be the same dimensions. Did you put any foam around the Bazooka on the bottom and around the sides to prevent vibaration or rattles since it is plastic up against the metal of the car?

Thanks for the comments ... I really appreciate them. I agree, a health plan for the ears. I am just looking for good solid/tight bass.

If you are looking to be bored of the bass you have in a very short aount of time bazooka will do.

I don't mean to be harsh but it is just not going to produce an accurate sound. Yes it will fit in that cubby but... well you know what I mean.

Thanks for your opinion ... but I don't think you know what I am looking for here. I want something that I can fit into the car and maintain the interior specifications. I am not going to go to stereo competitions and I want to maintain the little storage area that is in the Z. I don't want a huge overwhelming box in the hatch to where I look over my shoulder and that is all I see. Theft is also another concern. I have read review after review that these bass tubes are more than adequate for 90% of what people listen to ... and probably 100% of what I will be listening to. I don't consider it harsh, it is just your opinion.

Thanks!

I went with the 250 watt, which I believe puts out only 120ish watts rms!

I have not heard any rattles, although I do have some raammat bxt II sound deadener installed in the trunk area.

While I do advocate taking a break on your eardrums every so often, just know that if you are accustomed to really clean, sealed-box type bass that just punches you but does not leave any lingering noise, this is not going to do that. This is more of a "tap" than a punch and it can be muddy at times. Other times, I can't believe that this little speaker can do so much.

I do agree with some comments the others that have posted, as the sub fits and fills the low-freq void, but also it leaves a lot to be desired.
