Mounting backup cam
Participated in the group buy for the backup camera. Just got time to install it and having a hard time figuring out where to place it. I put it right next to the license plate light on the left side of the button to open the trunk. However most angles either show the top part of the license plate nook or the license plate itself.
Any pictures or ideas on where I should mount for maximum visibility? |

I believe there is a posting w/ pic to where to mount backup camera.
My question is where did you mount the navitool control box...i'm still to do this set-up when I get some time |

You can try to play around with the angle to make it view out more but I think you'll have a hard time getting it to not show the license plate and bumper. I don't mind since it's purpose is so the bumper doesn't get hit lol
But I'm not sure how much more visibility you need. With the side mirrors, backup cam and rear view mirror, I can pretty much see everything behind me.

I just installed mine (Kenwood CMOS 200) just to the right of the hatch release button and to the left of the license plate light. Works perfectly. I can't see the plate or the car from the top, but standing a foot behind my car, I can see my shoes up to my chest.

Installing the camera beside the left license plate light so that you can see a bit of the lower part of the license plate and bumper as per the instructions, is what I did. Gives the same view as on my FX, which has the OEM backup cam.
I have the control box in behind the nav screen.

I wrote a little review back when I installed mine and there are a few pics of how I mounted it here. I didnt like seeing the plate or bumper either so I dropped the camera down a little.

I just used the 2-sided tape. If it holds it'll save me from having to punch a hole through the bumper.
