Default Problam with Iphone and new nav stereo

I just hooked up my DNX6960 and have everything working nicely (steering wheel controls, BU cam, etc) but am having problems with the BT. I can start a call from my iphone and it will work fine with my BT, but I can't start a call from touching the screen. The "call start" button is unhighlighted as is the phonebook. I did a test call with the iphone, and now my recent calls and redial are highlighted, and thus useable. Any clues on how to fix this?

Do you have the iPhone paired with the HU in the Bluetooth setup?
Also, check Kenwood's site for any firmware upgrades to the HU.
I'm running a DNX9960 and iPhone 4 and don't have any problems. It takes a few seconds for it to see the iPhone, but once it recognizes it, it's fine.

I think you've coined a new engineering term for me : "problam" or maybe "proBLAM".

Definition - explode, catastrophic failure, rapid violent disassembly.

Sentence - The circuit we designed had a proBLAM.

Yeah, they paired successfully. I used the phone to call someone and then had the whole conversation over the BT. At the end of the call I was able to hang up with the "end call" button on the Nav. I just can't download the phonebook, or start a call from the screen.

I'll look for updates. I have the iphone 3gs. One other thing I was going to try is to upgrade the software on my phone. I never upgraded do to complaints that it made the phone slower. We'll see if any of that works.

I found the fix for this. I first updated my Iphone but that didn't work. I then searched around the internet and found a guy who had the same problem as me, and found the solution by accident. Anyway, when installing the system, I didn't hook up the parking sensor wire (green wire). I just assumed that this wire was there to limit some of the functions of the system to only respond while in park. Well, it turns out that this wire has to be grounded for the phonebook to download! Makes no sense to me, but whatever. Luckly, I bound up this wire (just in case I needed it) out by the shifter... 6 inches from my grounding bolt. So, 5 minute fix and voilla! Phonebook now downloads.
