Satellite Radio in base
Hey guys, I've been looking around for a while trying to find an aftermarket HU that has either Sirius or XM satellite radio built into it. I'm not a huge audio buff so I'm not to familiar with what is available. What I've found so far, it appears that the satellite radio is always an accessory to the HU. I realize I would most likely have to run an antenna for it, but are there any that have it built into the HU instead of an accessory? I don't really need one that plays dvds or has Nav (although Nav would be awesome). The main requirement I'm looking for is built in sat. radio. Anyone have any suggestions? If there aren't any what would you suggest?

they're usually always a seperate attachment as they do need an antenna to be run. however, the antenna can usually be hidden and still receive good reception. if you arent looking for dvd/nav id suggest this:
Amazon.com: JVC KW-XR810 Double-DIN Bluetooth Dual USB/CD Receiver with USB 2.0 for iPod/iPhone, and Bluetooth/Satellite/HD Radio add-on capability: Electronics good reviews, has built in bluetooth, the lighting color can be changed (to match the amber in our cars), double din, and relatively cheap at $250. the XM/Sirius adapter is something like 50bucks as well.. since you have a base, all you would need is the deck, the satellite radio adapter, wiring harness, and antenna harness. |

There are quite a few Kenwood Models that have built-in. All you need is an antenna and subscription. Mine has it, I'm just to much of a tightwad to pay for an antenna AND a subscription.
Here is their mondo-mamma-jamma that is coming out. New kenwood excelon dnx9980hd specs and pre-order wicked cas 603-642-4222 Edit: Scratch that, I guess you still have to buy the tuner to connect to the HU. Last edited by TreeSemdyZee; 02-21-2011 at 05:07 PM. |

If i was willing to pay the price of a Nav unit, would that open up any possibilities?
