sound quality!

This may not belong in this section, but I think more members come to general disscussions the most. I have the base coupe with sprt pack. Radio is base W aux plug in front. If you use an ipod and hookup to the aux jack, be sure to buy an RCA to IPOD plug, and not use an RCA to RCA!! RCA hooks up to ear bud jack, where as Ipod plug hooks up at bottom with wide plug. Sound diff is AMAZING!!! I thought it might be and I was right!!! Like $9 on amazon. :)

Hmmm didn't know that... I'm gonna have to give this a try.

I'm lost. The plug on the front isn't an RCA jack.

Yes, the plugon the from of the radio is an RCA plug, but make sure to get a cable that plugs into you iPod with the wide plug at the bottom. Thesame plug you would charge it through. If you use the earphone plug on the iPod, you will be greatly disappointed. Volume is low and sound quality not very good.

The plug on the front of the radio is NOT RCA, it is a 3.5 mm mini. Here is the cable to which I think the OP refers:

Ipod Dock Cable End Male to 3.5mm Cable Aux input MM - eBay (item 250736304444 end time Mar-02-11 04:28:28 PST)

Technically it's not an RCA true. Thanks for posting that link! The difference in sound quality will blow u away!! I promise!!!

TreeSemdyZee 02-06-2011 02:06 PM

That is a pretty cool cable. I didn't even know they made one like this. Definitely a good option for those not wanting to swap out the HU.

Hey BigRob, thank you. I had no idea I could connect the iPod in any other way than through the headphone jack and I ordered one today.

Now if people would rip cd's to lossless format you would really hear a difference with a good sound system.

+1 to that. I just reripped all of my CDs to lossless and it's made a huge difference. Bought a 160GB iPod to put 'em on.

bigaudiofanat 02-07-2011 02:02 PM

A 160gb ipod is not big enough for my collection anymore when it is 856 albums and counting.
