Why my old radar detector doesn't work

Hi guys,
I wonder if you could please point me to the right direction. Last month, I pulled out my 5 year-old radar detector and I noticed it doesn't detect any signals at all. My radar is as good as new and should function the way it should be... but I wonder if the police has changed their radar guns to a new frequency and therefore my unit is now useless?

Probably broke or needs to be cleaned.

I have the same problem with my 9500ix.

What needs to be cleaned? can't get it fix cause warranty is expired.

There are sensors on the fron sometimes get dirty some have covers that can be removed and cleaned behind. I think you guys just had broken radar detectors.

you can contact escort to have it tuned. i believe they charge anywhere from 50-100 dollars.

OK thanks bigaudiofanat I will try to clean and see if it will work again
Also...just to make sure, are they using the same frequency and radar technology as they used 5 years ago correct?
