Where to tap into for B.U. Cam, power, etc?
I've been searching the forum for a couple of days. I can't find the thread I saw once. It had pictures of a fuse box and had labels. Does anyone have links to where to wire your harness for B.U. cam, power, ground, etc.
Car is 2010 nismo, harness is Metra 70-7552 , H.U. is Kenwood 9960 thanks |

I've got a 9960 also with the Kenwood CMOS300. I ran the green reverse wire to the back of the car and connected to the backup light wire.
As far as power, I connected within the center console (between the seats) to accessory power. Many guys have run the power to the backup light line, but the problem with that is that only time you can turn the camera on is when you are in reverse. The 9960 has the ability to view the camera by hitting "AUD" button at the bottom of the HU. By using the accessory power, you basically have two switches to view the camera. 1. The AUD button or 2. putting the car in reverse. I used the power that goes to the "cigarette lighter" (or whatever it's called) that is under the lid on the armrest. |

Yes, those are good directions to the reverse wire. For me, the bundle of wires that was closer to the rear of the car (when you untape the big bundle and find 2 smaller bundles inside) held the orangish~tannish wire. I tested by attaching my voltmeter probe to an exacto knife then carefully piercing thru the insulation to test. 0V when not in reverse, 12v when in reverse.

Good info for the reverse light wire. thanks. I'll hook it up to the one in the front of the car. Any one have info were to hook up the speed sense wire and the VCC wire? or if they should be hooked up. I want to be able to play a DVD while the car is in motion for the passenger. H.U. is a Kenwood 9960

When i was installling the Navtool and Cam a few weeks ago i snapped this picture after my frusteration of testing every Orange wire. I found the reverse wire was infact not orange but more tan.

There is a lot of confusion in those links Whee. It seems that post is for 370's with Nav Units and for G37's. It does show the connectors for those cars. Mine is a 2010 Nismo. I'm looking for the best place to tap into the harness or connector for the VSS and Parking Brake wires for my car.

I am not 100% sure about the Nismo, but the wiring harness in the dash should be the same for each model regardless of which A/V head you have. It would make sense from a manufacturing point of view. It is easy enough to disassemble and check.... all the wires you need are in the back of the A/V Head under your cubby hole.
All info below taken from this thread: Nav/Dvd hack for 2010 The VSS is pin 82, beside it to the right in bright orange is Pin 81 for reverse signal, and then in green to the right is Pin 80 for Ignition power. Pin 65 below them is your ebrake to ground out so you can watch DVD's while moving.

Thanks, Weee. How many switches do I need, 3? One for the vcc wire (speed sensor) to just break the connection to he H.U. to make the HU think its parked. One for the parking brake sensor to ground it and make the HU think the parking brake is on. And one to supply 12v to the reverse sensing wire. Any tips or shortcuts you guys have will be appreciated.

Go to the link in my previous post for the Plug and Play ByPass kit. The last couple of posts I listed the build items. You will need an OEM seat heater switch to make it all pretty though!
Switch forward for NAV Bypass (through a relay) and then backward for backup cam on whenever. Ground the DVD brake sense wire permanently as it has no other use.

I went to the previous post. I noticed that you need to wire a relay and make a little harness. I havn't done this type of work but if there was documentation to follow I'm sure I could do it. Are you making a kit?

I didn't use any relay to hook my camera up. Hooked up the power leads to accessory power and the reverse wire (purple) to the backup light wire and connected the appropriate wires to the HU.
