question on bose and bluetooth

Had a question for those with the stock bluetooth bose system.
it's about the hands free incoming phone calls.
does it actual work as advertised can the other party hear you clear..
and can you hear them....

im starting to regret not buying one with my 09...
iv'e tried two after market units a jvc and a pioneer and both
suck when it comes to people hearing me on the other end..

all the stock bluetooth units i've heard are so much better than any
after market units.... just wondering is this par for the course.....

IMHO, it's all related to the position of the microphone.
I think it's up beside the lights in the roof.
As a result, I think they get a lot of background noise when listening to you.
And our cars are not quite.
Incoming audio I think is great.
But I can completely agree that outbound audio is probably pretty bad.

oh, my sister will not talk to me this way, but my mother will.
I am so going to regret these statements

Mine works as advertised. Never once did anyone ever complain about being able to hear me. I love it, think it is a awsome bluetooth system for calls and all that.
I also have a pioneer 920BT in my xterra and everyone says they hear me clear in that one also. Like someone said its all about mic placement. You want it as close to you as possible. I can take a pic for you where it is at in my xterra to give you a idea of how close to me it is.

The mic is in the HomeLink mirror.

I get complaints about 50% of the time. If I'm talking on it, I tend to move my head up near the mirror a little bit. My dad is extremely hard of hearing and I don't bother using it with him. What others said, the Z isn't a quite car and is probably part of the problem.

They should update the bluetooth system by using dual-microphones and incorporating a noise-cancelling system.

If you go aftermarket, I would go with one that uses Parrot technology as it's bluetooth. I installed a Parrot kit in my brothers company car a few years ago for Xmas gift, and it works really well.

thanks for the info. i guess I'm stuck with what I've got. its a jvc unit...
it does everything well except for the phone part. i hear them fine but
they say i sound crappy.. it links every time but what good is that if you can't
use the hands free dialing. oh well lesson learned......
