Z owners with the Bose sound system...
Fear not people, there is a way to manipulate the bose sound and change things up.
Earlier this morning I was taking my vehicle to get my aftermarket audio and security equipment removed and putting the stock configuration back in so I can get the Z tomorrow. The installer said that there are workarounds to add /change the factory system and implement your own stuff. :ughdance: |
Would it able to maybe just and an amp, and the system would sound decently better than stock??

I must apologize first off for my ignorance. This has always been a question of mine, and hopefully someone will be able to explain. If I were to get the touring package w/ nav (which has the upgraded sound system.) Would I be able to buy an amp, and new subwoofer (considering the stock subwoofer in the spare tire wouldn't be enough base.) I don't know much about car stereo's. Thank you for any input!

Yes, any good audio shop can do this for you. You rip out everything but the head unit and nav system and then send the factory speaker outputs to line-level converters which then feed the aftermarket amp(s). This is exactly what I did in my 350Z which had the factory Bose/Nav system.

I just got home with my brand new Z I love it, the ride is like a maxima, which at any time can turn into a beast. It needs a turbo, I guess I am still used to the pull of my 98 toyota supra TT. when I pushed her hard in 5th gear. :shakes head: ???? BUT the Z is such a better overall car. |

Bose use very low impedance speakers with funky connectors and their connections to their own amps are totally proprietary. But, as I said you rip all that out and send the signal from the head unit to your own amps and speakers.
