what do you suggest? or what have you had good experience with?

ive only used budget $100-150 components in my previous cars, havent dove into the Z's speakers yet...slowly working on that, but ive heard nothing but good things about these:

CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System

id also completely ditch any rear speakers you were planning. they're worthless and the sound stage wont benefit any with tiny rear speakers. oh and..i dont know why they're charging you so much for interconnects. its just a fancy way of saying RCA cables...and even (good) shielded RCA cables should NOT cost that much. hell..checkout these from monoprice:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

another point, you shouldnt be paying 60 dollars for an ipod cable...unless they're charging you "MSRP". no one in the audio world should be paying MSRP as the markup is HUGE. if your shop wont cut you any discounts, id suggest you go somewhere else with a good reputation. pioneer's website even sells the necessary ipod cable for $45...

You should see what it costs when you get into the real speakers for sound quality.

Find a dealer that sells hertz audison, for that kinda money Id go with an LRX 5.1k for amplification or the JL 900/5 both are amazing amps that offer tons of power and keep the install simple.Alot of people say JL is overpriced in some respects I agree but they do make some great products. Steer clear of their component sets, Theres a ton better for 400.
Save some money and go with a 12w6v2 or an Image Dynamics IDQ12v3. A couple component sets in your price range Id look at are Morel Dotech Ovation 6, or Boston acoustic spz60's. If you have a little more money the hertz MLK 165 is an amazing sounding set.
If you want you could always drive to South Jersey and get a custom install for a way better price at my shop ;) I always tell people to set a realistic budget of what they are comfortable spending and basing the install around that number.
