First I would like to Thank bdl99(Brian, I guess) for creating this thread.

I tried the DIY solution following the diagram provided by Brian:
https://docs.google.com/document/pub...dJDtKoKnP54Qfs

I'm using a SPDT slider switch, when the switch is on one-end position, everything works like normal(watching movie with e-brake on, GPS acts normal), however, when the switch is on the other position, the GPS gets no signal as expected, but it wont play video on screen, the reason is the system doesnt get e-brake signal.

I followed the wiring diagram as shown here(with DVD and Nav override):
https://docs.google.com/document/pub...dJDtKoKnP54Qfs

My question is: where should the PIN65 grounding wire connect to?

Thanks in advance for any help!

With the switch in one position for normal operation the e-brake wire (pin 65) should be in tact (sounds like that is working). In the other position the wire coming from the car harness should go nowhere and the end going to the AV unit should be grounded.

You mention SPDT, is that for just the parking brake switch? You need either:
1 x DPDT
or
1 X SPST (for speed) and 1 x SPDP (for Parking Brake)

The reason for this is with the speed sensor you are just making or breaking the connection where as with the Parking Brake you are making or redirecting the connection. In my diagram I show using a DPDT switch.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply Brian, I'm using a DPDT(slider) Please see attached.

I redirected the Parking Brake connection by connecting the Ground wire to the metal next to the Parking Brake lever(please see image No. 3), but it doesn't seem working. Where would be the best place to connect this Ground wire to?

Thanks alot!!!

It doesn't matter where you ground it, the point just needs to be a ground. The point you show should be a good ground, but you can always check with a meter and check continuity between that point and a know ground point. The connection with your added call-out should be the connection going to ground shown in your 3rd picture, so from the switch to ground.

Can you send a picture of how you have wired the back of the switch? I think that is more likely to be the issue.

Hey bdl99, do the 'Plug and Play Bypass Kit' and the 'Rear Camera Kit' for the 2010 also work with the 2012? Thanks.

Without going through 22 pages of this thread, is there a way to connect a rearview cam to a '09 nav/sat/bose system? I have searched quite a bit but haven't found a good answer.

Thanks!!

There was a another thread that would be more relevant regarding the backup cameras rather than the bypasses.

But to answer your question:
Nissan 370z - Car Kit Company

I created the kit for the 2010+ 370z and originally arranged a group buy and continued to offer the kits.

Jeff (no longer a 370z owner) arranged a group buy for the 2009 cars. You basically need an RGB converter for 2009 cars which puts the price up. I do a kit for the GT-R that would technically work for the 370z.

I think I'm going bug-eyed reading through this thread :)

I appreciate the kit, but I'd rather do what I did with my Lexus IS to save a bit of $$$. They have a Nav by-pass similiar to yours, but a lot of people, including myself, did a Nav hack with cutting a wire and grounding another behind the HU for vid in motion. My goal is to connect my rear view cam to the aux input in the center console via this same method. I connected my cam last night and it worked well....as long as the e-brake was up one notch. Of course, I don't want this.

Any links to this hack would be appreciated or do I need to read every page? I did see the link at the begining, but it looked like it was for '10+

Thanks!! :tiphat:
