It's been so long, I forgot about this.

Any updates on the "HI" light Brian? I have completed three installations of this configuration and all have the same issue. I am sure it is the relay in the path of the 12v switch output that is causing the light issues. Maybe a different relay or a micro relay would make a difference.
Not that it should matter, but I have tied the switch ground to the relay ground going to the same frame point.

Can you post the diagram of how you have connected? I have a couple of thoughts: 1) Some relays have diodes across the coil to avoid bounce and that may be causing a problem. Normally it doesn't matter which way round the relay coil is connected in the circuit (85 + and 86 - or 85 - and 86 +) but if there is a diode in the relay and a diode (LED) in the switch that may be causing the problem. Have you tried wiring the coil both ways round? 2) When the feed from the switch doesn't go to the relay I'm assuming the "Hi" light does come on? What it you feed something other than the relay a 12V bulb for example? That would confirm the relay as the cause (or not). Thanks, Brian |

Jeff's kit was installed successfully this morning and everything worked as planned. Forward ("Hi") position to enable DVD/NAV bypass and Backward ("Lo") for reversing camera over-ride.
Pictures and videos to follow... |

worked like a charm on the first try. No more having to pull over to enter nav instructions, or having to yell repeatedly at the navigation. The voice activated navigation is actually pretty good when it comes to street addresses, but try searching for a business/restaurant etc, and its a nightmare. oh and the switch lights up when its pressed to 'hi' or 'low'

Was there still going to be a remote option?

Thanks Brian. Glad you're back. Do you have a time frame, and what was the price again?

Did you reverse the relay or is it a relay without a diode? Still haven't had a chance to play with mine.

I would say within 10 days, I had order most of the parts some time ago but didn't want to order the Nissan parts (heated seat switch and harness) until I had installed in Jeff's car. I've now ordered 5 sets of switches and harness because that is all they had in stock.
