Nissan 370Z Forum - jikhead's Album: Custom Sub-Box IN Spare Tire

The cubic space in my box ended up being a little short on the minimum recommendations for my speaker, but it still sounds fine. It did sound a little weird and off, but after sticking the poly in the box, that seemed to address the weird displacement sound I was getting. Still, an 8" shallow sub instead of a 10" is what I should've gone with. I also took some foam and raised my hatch liner up about an inch so that it's not directly sitting on the subwoofer.

between my rear seats... oh wait :wtf2:

I just bought a bazooka bass tube. Thinking of putting it in the styrofoam filled spot behind the rear strut brace, under the carpet. looks like it will stick up about a 1/2", but that should be fine.

This is how the body shop did mine:

However, since I have the air ride suspension the air tank is also under that so I lost my spare tire. Fix-A-Flat for me now on.....ugh!

I also have an 8" JL sub and box that fits inside the spare tire if you are interested. It does not fit in the spare with the sport package, only the non-sport package. I bought it off of someone who used to be on here for 350 and never used it. I will sell for 250 shipped.

Its this one:

I have 2 custom made slim subs behind the seats. Subs are TangBand

I am 5'9" and did not lose any leg room. I can take pics later for you.

Hell yeah it is. Not even sure if that is even a fair question to ask.:happydance: Of course I'm sending half my Alpine amp's power to it, so it's getting 150 watts to it.

The Bose sub is fine when you first get your car, but it will quickly wear off when you realize it isn't enough. When I decided to take the Bose sub apart to see what was inside, it was embarrasing. I don't have the pics anymore, but there are two little 4" cheezy paper speakers inside that plastic box. The box is specially designed and ported weirdy to maximize the tiny speakers...just like the Bose Wave Radio. There is also a tiny amp inside it the size of about 2" x 4".

I did mine out of a mix of 'glass and ultralight mdf, it can come out in about a minute flat, pics in my album.
