Double Din Dvd/Nav Feedback Topic
So I'm trying to figure out which head-unit to exchange for my old head-unit "Sony XAV 70-BT' Was SLOW as HELL on the Ipod selections and killed my interest.
Pros's: Sound quality was great, dvd player great image, decent blue-tooth and sharp design Con's: Its Sony, Ipod feature was Garbage and would take half a minute to select the next song. If the pod was connected while the car was turned off and turned back on the track would continue TIME wise but music was not available. You would have to disconnect the ipod and reconnect.. :shakes head: So... I have returned the unit and expecting to purchase a new unit. I would love some honest feedback regarding Double Din Touchscreen's that some members have. Looking For: QUICK IPOD functions and speed, dvd player, NAV is a plus if doesn't slow down the unit or Ipod function. Blue tooth and etc. PRODUCTS CONSIDERING: Pioneer AUIC-X920BT Alpine INA-W900BT Kenwood DDX896 Which ones would you select in regards to the spec's im looking for? Or possible add it :stirthepot: Eclipse, etc |
I'm a Pioneer fan (very user friendly) and the AVIC-X920BT is a great head unit but check out the AVIC Z110BT you can upgrade it to the AVIC Z120BT for free.

I'm a Kenwood fan, but I've never had any of the others. Slow iPod reaction is pretty much technology related. If you've ever tried to control an iPod with a remote such as the Apple remote, you'll realize that remote control of the iPod is slow, doesn't really matter what kind of remote (HU) you're using. I imagine some are slightly faster than others, but nothing is going be blazing.
I've got a Kenwood DNX9960 and the voice commands actually react quicker than the touch screen when controlling the iPod. |

Yea Ive heard alpine, pioneer and some kenwood have decent units. Just want to make sure the unit I choose isnt loaded up and the interface slows down on me again. I heard many with built in nav compared to the ones without nav are slower as the nav slows down the system.. Is this true or overrated statement? So mmhhhmmmm I guess now i just need to make a decision ..... damnit
