Power Connection Question
Power is going to a Kenwood DD. I'm not using an Amp. I read on the forum some people use J L Audio MetaWire. Is this the best "value for money" device or is there a better cheaper way to get power. MetaWire cost is around 140.00.

I found MetaWire for 50.00 on Amazon. Thats more reasonable for me:

If you're not using an outboard amp, I believe the stock wiring (for the Touring stereo, at least) is sufficient for the head unit's power (typically 22-25WRMS/channel).
I haven't pulled the dash apart yet, but I'd be surprised if the power lead is less than 12-gauge wire.

The stock wiring is going to be fine for powering the new head unit, I have not only powered the head unit from the stock wiring but the alpine add on amp for thier head units which increases the power from 22 watts to 50 watts. You are fine using the factory wiring.
Now if you were doing a true high quality setup that you were going to spend 6k+ for the system. I would than run a new power wire from the battery to the head unit using a relay.

Glad I wasn't holding my breath.
What bigaudio says, I think you're fine just using the stock wiring. You most likely will be going outboard amps down the road, so I'd focus your work on running that wire when the time comes.
