dynamat question

where is the best place to get the best bang for your buck? i need a lot of it i believe correct? gonna do the doors and trunk 370z of course..

Its a common misconception that loading the car with sound deadener is the answer. Fact is applying dynamat to the flat surfaces is adequate. A second layer using a foam deadener is the best way to quiet the cabin down.

So just putting dynamat in the flat areas like the hatch floor is good? what about the fenders?

flat areas would include fenders, the areas that dont need it are creases and bends in the sheet metal. they tend not to resonate.

In the back floor of the hatch area.....how much should be covered then..? Just the middle?

Dynamat is not all that! I feel Rammat is better and its cheaper and easier to install. RAAMaudio

I put twice as much Rammat for what dynamat would have cost me for half of what I put in. Plus applying just the deadning material is only half of the job. You should apply the ensolite 1/8" foam over all the areas you deaden and you will NOT have any squeaks and rattles ever! Plus you car will be like a vault inside!

My Z is like a Lexus inside! My aftermarket Exhaust use to drone intill I deadened the car, now it sounds wonderfull and refined inside the car.

That stuff looks great, i might go with that just because its cheep and looks easy..did you put this stuff just on the main areas?

i used 2 rolls of Rammat and 20 yards of Ensolite. I had the interior of the car completely removed and the entire inside of the car was covered. I glued the ensolite over the top of the Rammat for an additional sound barrier.

I went overkill, 1 roll would do a good job. I do recommend the Ensolite as it is too cheap to not do it.
