Factory Nav

Who actually makes the HU and NAV Software for Nissan. I know, most of the Toyota's are equipped with Eclipse/Garmin parts, BMW with Alpine/Navteq...

If I am not mistaken it is Navteq/Alpine

The TV tuner they offer in Japan is a Panasonic, so who knows?

Judging by the info from Nissanusa website, I think it's safe to assume NavTeq makes the 370Z nav.

Thanks, I'm tying to match the Hu with the factory electronics, it usually works out better, but the Pioneer F-series stuff is looking really nice.

Yes, I got my eyes on the F series as well! :tup:They seem like decent HU for the money.

You should read this thread:

Navigation/Musicbox Investigation Part 1 - MyG37

Some folks at myg37.com have pulled the head unit and answered a lot of these questions. A Clarion subsidiary, Xanavi Infomatics, manufactures the head unit. Navteq is the navigation software developer, running on a QNX operating system. Hard drive is a ruggedized 30GB drive from Toshiba (and maybe other drive mfgs)

Very facinating thread in that forum!

I thought NavTeq just handles the data, not the hardware. I know they supply all the media/data for Audi also!
