observation on fm reception

earlier someone was having an issue with the fm reception of the base radio
and the sound quailty and i've been having the same problem....

so anyway i have a iphone so i downloaded the pandora internet app
and having been using it and i can't believe the difference in sound quailty..
the highs and lows sound great. and this from a base radio with just jbl component speakers....

ONce you start getting into better quality speakers than stock or low end things you buy at walmart, you start to hear the difference in things. It is like buying an ipod and using the headphones that come with it. They work but are no where near quality. Once you upgrade the headphones you still have room for improvement by stop downloading crappy compressed music and ripping from original cd's in lossless. You would be amazed at how much stuff you were missing in your music. It is the same for your car and radio, pandora, mp3.s and than real cd's or apple lossless or FLAC.

Here are some numbers for you.

FM Said to be 96kbps but some say it is lower
Pandora 96kbps "digital"
HD Radio 100kbps
Sat Radio 105kbps
Normal MP3 128 kbps
Downloaded MP3 110kbps "after being copied so many time quality is lost"
Basic CD track off original cd 989 kbps
High quality cd track such as sacd 1400kbps

If you start listening to regular cd's and have amplified good quality speakers you will start to understand what crazy audio fanatics like myself live for. Great quality music. Even if your someone that wants more bass than a sound quality setup high quality audio still helps you with better accurate bass in music.
