I am still looking into a OEM accessory kit. A national tech should be getting back to me soon.

Sorry for the late response Jeffblue. I didn't see the first time you asked. PontualZ is correct for the most part. Although I think you can do it with the starter in the ON position or with the engine running. Turn off your radio, hold down setting button and turn volume control counter-clockwise about 3-4 full turns until the screen changes. You will be taken to a diagnostics screen where you can access numerous features.

Here are the camera adjustments....

Once you make changes just turn your radio back on and the system will reboot with the new settings.
If you turned the camera settings to on, then after you reboot and shift into reverse you will see this screen.

I'm currently working with someone who is assisting me in creating a harness to plug in without any mods to the current wiring. As soon as I test it I will get a DIY going and talk to the guy to see if he's interested in producing a few kits to make it easier on everyone. From the work I've seen it'll be as good as OEM with no additional drilling, wiring, or soldering. Just plug-n-play and quite possibly for 1/2 the $$$ from the factory. :excited:

Lou, if it's easier to locate also check to see if you can just get the male female plugs/sockets for the M93: 24-way connector on the Nav screen and M202: 40 way on the A/V unit. That is the main item needed to make this work without cutting into the factory wiring.

DeLRo, this vendor at the GTR forum seems to have fabricated something similar to what we need. i'm not sure if it would work for our cars but i commented on his thread. you seem to know a lot about this, maybe you could chime in over there.

Rear View Camera Kits - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

Hi Guys,

I made the discovery about the 2011 GT-R and posted the details on the GT-R forum HERE

I then made the kits available HERE and offered both a complete kit (with camera) and one with just the harness.

I've been contacted by a couple of 370Z owners (including DeLRo) and working with them we've established that the 370Z with Satnav is the same as the GT-R. There are some minor differences in the wiring but the same harness approach will work.

Let me know if you want some help either in creating a 370Z harness or just sharing how to do it.

Cheers,
Brian

Definitely interested for my 2010.

Perhaps someone with a 2009 model can help establish something.

With the GT-R (at least on the NA models) the NAV system was upgraded with higher resolution screen and switched to digital RGB rather than analog RGB on the 2011 model. It appears from researched to date that the 2010 370z with SatNav has the newer AV and Screen also and my harness approach will work.

Can someone with a 2009 model try the hidden menu (detailed above) and see if the camera option is present and if it is when the camera is enabled that the screen goes blue when the car is placed in reverse.

hey Bdl, as far as i know, the '09s require an external device to trigger the screen switch when reverse is activated.

OK, thanks. So it sounds like the 370z '09s are like the GT-R '10s. I've been comparing wiring diagrams and I'm now 99.9% certain that I can create a harness for the 370z '10s with SatNav that will work like the kit I created for the 2011 GT-R with factory like install with moving guidelines etc etc.

Please add me for 2010 list.

LMBmikeZ 10-25-2010 08:25 PM

add me to the 2010 list! I have been wanting this from day one:driving:

Jeffblue 10-25-2010 09:30 PM

ok, so i have sent a PM to AK in order to figure out the logistics of doing this, but as it stands i have found a solution for our NAV backup camera's for both years.

Adrey, At Specialized Performance (a vendor at NAGTROC) sells a camera that works for the 2009 and 2010 370z, but they are two different units because of the udpated nav in 2010. Essentially the difference between the two units is that the '09 unit requires an additional part/switch in order to initialize the camera when the car goes into the reverse. as you can see baed on DeLRo's instructions, the 2010's do this by themselves once activated via the diagnostic mode. Anyways that leaves the '09s camera fix more expensive than the 2010's.

2010 unit is 495 normally, group buy price: $350

2009 unit is 825 normally, group buy price: $665

10 total committed would allow us to get the lowered pricing. (ie if 8 2010's and 2 2009's commit, everyone can get group buy pricing.)

committed=50%deposit.

As i understand the units are sold with a 1 year warranty

it may turn out that the NAVTOOL for the '09s might prove to be a less expensive option, in which case i will try and setup a group buy for you '09 guys.

I've been a member here for a while, and i want to get it out of the way right now. i am in no way trying to profit from this and i'm not trying to sell anything. i'm aware of the requirements for selling things on the forum and i'm aware that at the moment, I, nor Adrey@Specialize Performance are vendors. i'm just trying my best to arrange a way for all of us to get camera's like our cars should have come with in the first place. I have sent AK a message in order to go over how we can implement this group buy and who needs to become a vendor and whatnot in order to set it in motion. but anyways, that is the pricing, and these units will work.

anyways, that is where we stand right now. tomorrow i will call navtool to see the logistics of a group buy and see if it might be a cheaper alternative for the 2009 guys.

Any ideas on installation procedure?
(In either way)
