Amp location ideas?
I'm looking for ideas on where to put the amp. I was thinking under a seat, but it wont fit. Now I'm thinking that I'll put it behind the passenger seat. Might have to scoot it up a bit but it might work.
I'm going to rip out the interior soon but I wonder if anyone had any other suggestions before I start tearing up the interior  |
I plan to fit a pair of NINE.2 in the cavity behind the strut bar.

under the passanger seat

Behind the driver or passenger seat, where they created that small tray.

rear speaker location

If you are contemplating a rear speaker (sub) in the area behind the rear strut bar, then I would be interested in you installation. I am thinking of adding a small sub (8") in this area along with an amp. The plastic foam piece that fills this area is wedged in tight. Were you able to remove it without destroying it? ;) |
What AK and I talked about was making a fiberglass insert to sit in the spare tire to hold a sub. And amps where he pointed out above. Of corse we are still talking about it.

You should check out my album. Its a 12" sub and two alpine amps. Cool thing is they are covered with lightweight board so you still have full use of your trunk area and its all pretty much invisible. You lose your spare of course but that's what AAA is for :)
I'd attach the pics but I can't get them to copy over. Good luck. |
Has anyone placed the amps behind their driver and passenger seats yet? I am specing out an audio install for the spring and would love to see placement options for the hardware.
I was thinking that mounting 2 amps, 1 cap, 2 distribution blocks and possible an EQ on an MDF board would be fine. And i would just have to mount that board behind the seats. Any thoughts? |
