It seem like yesterday I bought the "NEW IPOD SHUFFLE" for my friend. :/

It looks nice, but building the controls into the headphones might not be such a good idea.
You either are stuck with the stock headphones, which do break quickly, or you have to pay an extra fee to upgrade again since you have to buy "special" headphones.

Yeah, but if there is an aftermarket dock (that can be very small too) with the system built-in then it might prove a great asset to connecting to your car. I sure like the black version.

That is true, and for a car this could be perfect. I currnetly run a 2GB sandisk through AUX, but I have to control it through the MP3 player, which sucks. I have never bought a shuffle, and I know it is extremely small, but I bet it does not have a full 30-pin connection. What type of connection, besides AUX does it have?

Not sure, but I am going to look it tonight at the Apple store. Anyway, if a connector is an issue the aftermarket will quickly make an adapter. I would love to see a docking station that can be affixed to the overhead map lighting console so that the mic can be used in the Z.
