Window Module Question
Not quite sure what section of the forums to put this in, but I guess this is the closest relation to my electrical tech question.
So, you know how when you open the door the window goes down about 1/2" or so. Then when you close it, it goes back up and seals. Mine does not go back up and seal. Every time I open the door, the window goes 1/2" lower, but does not go back up when I close the door. Basically I can roll my window down by opening the door a bunch of times lol. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time was after I removed and re-installed the factory battery to weigh it on the weight reduction thread. I took it to the dealership so they could fix it and all was good. Now, I just got done installing an aftermarket battery and the problem is back. Obviously it has something to do with disconnecting the battery, but now I am worried that since I have an aftermarket battery in the car, the dealership will charge me to fix it. It took the dealership all of 10-15 min. to fix it the first time and they said they just reset the window module. Anybody know how to do this so I don't have to go to the dealership again? Thanks in advance. Electronics are not my forte...

Just finished installing the factory lighted "Z" door sills which means disconnecting the battery, and having to reset the auto windows. Here is how from the manual:
If the windows do not close automatically If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system. 1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Close the door. 3. Open the window completely by operating the power window switch. 4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely. 5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete. 6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows. If the power window automatic function does not operate properly after performing the procedure above, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer. |
