Default Service Engine Soon light after HU install

I have a problem, ever since my Pioneer headunit was installed last week and the battery was unplugged 100 times, my Service Engine Soon light came on and won't go away. I've taken multiple trips already and its still there. Anyone know the remedy to this, or what is the reset procedure?

Thanks,

Thanks,
What was unplugged when you re-hooked the battery to test your install? The code will likely depend on what was not connected when you powered up the system to test it out? Did you have your window controls un-hooked while testing your fronts out? How about the climate controls or the console controls? If you power-up the system without re-connecting something it will throw a code at you. You will likely have to get it reset try your local parts joint, bring a six pack with you.

You should read some of the sticky posts about problems after audio installs, you could have saved yourself some headache with a read before hand.

Oh sorry for your luck, in this situation I am out.

You get a warranty with your install?

Unless it keeps throwing codes, you should be able to reset your ECU and the SES should, in theory, go away.

cool hope that dtc was cleared and no actual problems with the car.

if it comes up again, take it to your dealer or local autoparts store if you dont have a OBD2 reader. they can read it for you and let you know big does not like pioneer HU's.

Pioneer has been a solid brand for decades shouldn't cause a problem.

I would bet you fixed your problem already, weird why someone would need to unhook and rehook a battery a 100 times like you said, I would think that in one of those times someone forgot to hook something and bang you got a service light. If it happens again you may have a poor connection on one of the components that was unhooked in the process of installing that new HU. Good luck with that, I hope you don't have to go to the dealer for a code reset at $150 a pop.

The light sometimes does appear after an install I have read other installs with that same thing. After the reset should be fine as I have seen before. Disconnect a 100 times is a little un realistic more like 8 or 10 but when you are testing things and buttoning up its something that is done to make sure you do not throw a airbag light.
