My New/old Stereo
I pulled it out of my truck and put it it the Z. The truck just doesn't see much road time anymore.
http://www.the370z.com/members/wgw37...38-kenwood.jpg I used the Metra mounting kit. It's very clean. There is a white box mounted under the factory stereo, using the stereo mounting brackets. I had to cut the top of the brackets off, but other than that, it was pretty smooth. The Bluetooth module I mounted under the white box just below the head unit. The Garmin GPS module and XM module I mounted under the passenger seat. The iPod interface, I ran into the center console: http://www.the370z.com/members/wgw37...9-kenwood2.jpg The PAC steering wheel controll interface is mounted directly under the shift boot. Works just like advertised. The XM (picture center) and GPS (picture left) antenna's are mounted under the rear deck carpet: http://www.the370z.com/members/wgw37...0-kenwood3.jpg GPS reception is great. I originally had the XM on the right side but moved it to the center because my reception was weak while moving. I'm hoping with it in the center it will get better reception. Just thought I'd share what I did. It went pretty smooth. WGW |
You don't have any reception issues for the GPS? it's my understand that the antenna should be facing the sky with as little obstructions as possible...

He can have it in the middle of the dash. Not sure about in the trunk might be bad reception on cloudy days.

Thanks all!
DeEePiDDy - No issues with GPS reception. I'm going to have to move the XM antenna though. I really don't want it on the dash or body. I may try moving it area between the windshield wipers. WGW |
