So you have to ground this wire on the vehicle side of the harness? Or can you ground it on the aftermarket harness? I noticed mine has two ground leads off the black ground wire.

It can be grounded at the same place your head unit is being grounded to.

The black wire in your metra harness is only for Subaru vehicles, in a nissan you have to make your own ground location.

Thanks, also do just tap into the red wire on my new harness from the Axxess harness?

I'm only able to get the volume buttons working with my new KW-NT800HDT. I posted the full details in this post. Anyone have any suggestions?

I did the auto program function and only the volume buttons worked. The instruction booklet outlines how to program manually. Its a couple pages of drole instructions but only takes about 5 mins (if that) to complete. All buttons functioning now.

I programmed it after installing the new HU, but before I put all the dash panels back on, that way I could pull out the black box unit and see the red lights as well as reset the device. I had the ignition on, and the radio going so I could see/hear the volume going up/down etc.

If you guys get random button pushes you will need to update the firmware of the black box. I just did that and all is working 100% now!

Just an update for anyone intimidated by this install. Once it is all wired, the "manual programming" takes all of about 2 minutes. Just follow the step by step instructions that you can get from axxess the website. Don't worry, there are no specific instructions for 370zs. Just start by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds and follow the steps under manual programming. It's very simple.

Just to clarify the Car side plug number 15 has to be grounded since it doesn't go to anything on the metra plug grounding just on the aftermarket plug will not work the oem plug 15 also has to be grounded. This drove me crazy

Quick question... I haven't looked at the vehicle users manual, but I assume that the 2012 and 2013 model wiring configuration hasn't changed therefore tapping the Metra Axxess harness as you have all stated should work just fine?

I am having this same issue, any one resolve this?

I've considered manually reprogramming the axxess and skipping the "seek" functions and programming these as "track up/down" (If you've manually programmed one of these units I'm hoping you know what I am referring to).

Just wanted to hear other member's experience before I take apart the dash (again)..

Anyone have any luck getting it to work with a 2013 Base. Frustrated.... I used the blue and pink wire. Separate ground for pin 15.

Just did this today and it worked first time with the auto program. All I did was update the unit via my PC before installing.
