Dimensions for space under floor behind strut bar?

Does anyone have accurate dimensions of the space under the cargo floor immediately behind the strut bar? I'd like to mount my Kicker ZX550.3 amp back there which is 16-3/4"L

Default Dimensions for space under floor behind strut bar?

Does anyone have accurate dimensions of the space under the cargo floor immediately behind the strut bar? I'd like to mount my Kicker ZX550.3 amp back there which is 16-3/4"L x 9-5/8"W x 2-1/8"H. Also, does this space have enough air to keep the amp from overheating? I already built myself a sort of mini Zenclosures type box with 2 JBL 8" subs and now I just need some power. I would like to keep the amp hidden if I could, and it definitely won't fit under the seats.

It should fit, i have a MTX TE604 and a TE801 there, no problems over heating, i con't remember the exact space, but if you check out my install, or go to the mtx site to get the size of the amps you'd be in good shape.

I fit the same size amp in that location no problem, the only issue was the top clearance where the amp will need to slide under the strut bar area. The amp I installed in the location 17"L x 9-1/4 d and 2-1/2"h your extra height clearance will help you, how were you going to mount it?

Juleous,
I don't know exactly how I'm going to mount it yet. I was hoping to make some brackets that attached to some of the existing threaded fasteners that are already in the area. I didn't want to drill any holes if I didn't have to. It needs to be pretty secure because I autocross the car. I'll figure it all out when I take it apart this weekend. I asked about the dimensions because if it wouldn't fit under the floor it was going on the package shelf behind the seat.

Juleous,
Thanks. I saw your pictures before when I was searching around. They were the inspiration for my own install. By the way, what kind of adhesive did you use to attach the 2x2 wood strips to the metal floor pan? The car gets driven hard occasionally and I can't have it break loose back there and short out something.

I used 5 minute steel epoxy, those 2x2 strips will never come loose.
