Looked at it, way expensive for what you get IMO. I wanted something I could put what ever subs I wanted in it, I was thinking about going X type from the R type and pushing 1700watts at 1ohm on the Brutus. Easy to do, only problem Z electrical not powerfull enough at that point.

That's a good price for that JL model, only thing is could you get more for the same or less price? If your having someone do the install then your options are a little more limited, cause they will carry their brands. 5 channel amps are common place, many brands make them. The Alpine is a really good price for what you get, only thing is if your not going to bridge the 4 channels to two then it's a little under powered for some bigger components. But for a front stage only plus one sub you can't beat a PDX 5 on price. Quality sure but the Alpine unit is very nice, my only gripe would be to hide the wiring with end caps. |
