Base Model Stereo?
I just sat in a base model and listened to the radio in it for a minute or two. Is it really as bad as it sounded to me? It sounded like something that would be in an '83 Ford Ranger!
I'm assuming the Bose in the Touring is much better, but I'm trying to convince myself to save some money and go with the base model + the sports package. |

That depends on what kind of music and what kind of listening experience you want. Did you test drive it at all? Bear in mind that in motion, this car is not sound proof. I'm not trying to sell the touring on you, but I feel I should mention that if the radio is that important to you, test drive the base model with it playing, because that will speak the truth to you.

Well, I can't comment on the base model, but I can tell you that the sound quality on the 8 speaker touring is very nice. Over the top for a car, if you ask me, especially in one that will have so much road noise along with it, but it cannot be denied that it is good.
Since the stereo isn't that important, what in the 4000 touring package would be to you? |

i purchased a based model 370z for so many reasons..i always replace em with better after market stuff.as far as the sound system goes.it depends on how n what you listen to..so far i replaced my stock base stereo with pioneer touch screen with navi and replaced all the stock speakers with component system polk audio and running 4 channel kicker amp.i made a sub box with L5 kicker square box and running it with a 400.1 kicker mono amp.using all monster cables and i tell you its sounds so good im almost living in my car now.lol..and its way cheaper than what the dealer charges you on a bose system.but this all depends on what you prefer..

I just bought a 2009 370Z with Sport package. I am having the same issue with my system. The sound has some major issues and when you combine it with the road noise, you are better off just not turning it on. As soon as I can free up some extra cash, I'm starting out with putting Dynamat on the doors and interior. Then I am planning on putting in a good HU and speakers. If that doesn't work, I'm giving the car to my wife...

Do not get the bose system you will regret it in more ways than one. Even with the bose system I think it sounds worse than the base system. Save your money buy base and buy aftermarket.

My PERSONAL experience with pioneer leads me to say they are poor quality and unreliable. That being said others have different experience with them. I would recommend kenwood over pioneer.

I was thinking about buying the Avic-Z110. This unit is unreliable? I was also interested in the Pioneer Avic-X920. The X920 supports Pandora which is a really good (free) uncensored internet radio. I have it on my computer and iPhone and listen to it more than Sirius. I have plenty of time to decide since my Z hibernating for the winter. Any opinions? |
