I am having the same issue with my system. The sound has some major issues and when you combine it with the road noise, you are better off just not turning it on. As soon as I can free up some extra cash, I'm starting out with putting Dynamat on the doors and interior. Then I am planning on putting in a good HU and speakers. If that doesn't work, I'm giving the car to my wife...
