Juleous on my connecter that goes to my sub I see a big black and big yellow wire. A smaller grey as well as another black wire than I light blue and a purple wire. Are the blue and purple the wires that you spliced into for the re-q?

Okay excellent thanks for the info. I should be getting mine this week so I'm trying to get a good idea of what I got to do. From what I understand the re-q has two brown wires that those hook to? And I have heard people say that they had problems when using those wires off the sub connecter and that it was not loud enough do to it being low level. Being you have it done the way I am gonna do it I was wondering if you acquired any problems like this?

When you first start the RE-Q up you will likely be near full gain on the RE-Q start with the amp at half gain or lower then turn it up. The RE-Q is a bit of PITA to tune especially if you place it under your sub box. If you cant reach the RE-Q then go full gains on the RE-Q and turn the crossover to 100hz or above, then use your amp crossover to do your final tuning. If your amp and RE-Q are both under the sub then your sort of screwed on tuning. Then start best guess and keep the volume low on the deck to start with. Just some tips I found when I did what your about to do. I ended up changing it all cause I hated the amp and RE-Q under the sub, which led me to a full system change. |

Thanks for the info. I am hoping that it all works good going off the sub wire. If not I'm gonna have to try and go off the speakers like you did. Hopefully it's not to hard to figure out what wire goes to what.

This leads me to think the rears are the only fullrange output from the Bose amp, so I tapped off the Bose rear channels. |

Oh okay I got you now. I was under the impression you only needed to hook up one set. Okay this is making sense now. I appreciate the info def feel a kot more comforitable going into this now.

There it is, my latest design. I know that someone will say man that things is big, well it's no bigger than a Zenclosure height wise. The internal volume per sub is just under 1 cubic foot, perfect for these Alpine Type R's. |

When I built this thing, my major concern was visibility once I put the amp on top would the amp now block the little view I have. Turns out from the drivers seat looking through the Rear view mirror the top of the amp lines up perfectly with the bottom of the rear window looking back.
Reasons why I built this, I wanted to show the cool HiFonics blue glow especially at night it looks so sick. I wanted to keep full spare tire access, because I road trip this car a ton in the summer. I did not want the amp taking up vital hatch space and getting scratched. My final plan is to build a false floor cover over the spare tire area, place the spare tools in a leather case and keep them in the spare tire. Leave out the foam blocks so incase I want to carry some extra stuff I just pop up the false floor panels and store a ton more groceries or whatever down there. Lot's of extra space that never gets used, that's taken up by those foam blocks. |

So I have a little problem. I have everything installed in the car. I have the JL stealth box with 2 10" w3s and an Alpine mrp-1000m. Now for some reason when I turn the gain up a little over a quarter of the way I get like a pop sound when the speaker hits hard. I have checked all the speaker wires to make sure I'm not backwards or shorting out. Then only thing I can think of is that I'm over powering the speakers which does not make sense being they are rated for 1000 watts just like the amp so they should handle it unless I'm thinking about this all wrong. Or maybe my RCA wires are backwards. I noticed that on the re-q they are not labeled on the sub side. I would swap them around but didn't know what's gonna happen if I'm wrong and they are the right way. Any info or opinion would be great.
