A little; however I have used JL in the past and have always liked the end result.

I guess I will go ahead and ask my first question without seeing the speakers. In my browsing around this forum it looks like I can mount the tweeters using the original tweeter bracket by tearing it apart. Is this true?

What would be a good way to mount the tweeter in the dash?

AuburnZ 08-24-2010 01:28 PM

I like how you say you are doing the install by yourself. I guess I will be lounging in the house while you do it.

Well if I remember correctly from our last install, all you did was the dynomat and you made it clear you were not doing that again.:icon23:

Nick

Nick how did you attach the tweeters to the bracket?

SlikNik 08-24-2010 03:30 PM

Dude don't tear your bracket apart... Save it in case your want to reinstall back to factory. Just trace it out on a a piece of 1/8 thick plexi or anything and mount your tweeter to that.
Your system should sound sweet, you are going to love that amp.

Rogue370z 08-24-2010 03:32 PM

Where is a good place to get a piece of plastic to use?

SlikNik 08-24-2010 03:40 PM

Home Depot, Lowes
Draw it out, drill the holes you traced, and whammo, new bracket ready to install.

bigaudiofanat 08-24-2010 07:39 PM

You can tear the tweeters apart they go for 10 bucks on ebay or cheaper I doubt you will ever take them out and sell the car.

If you want to use new brackets than go to your hobby shop get some semi thick plastic and make them out of that.

Tell me the truth Rogue, the talk of the Greddy TT was just to get her to agree to the 'lower' cost alternative of this system, right??????

Rogue370z 08-25-2010 10:34 PM

Damn...you should not bring up private wranglings. :shakes head: I had a serious decision to make and this is where we ended up. ;)

JayYoon 08-25-2010 11:52 PM

if you get the "WICKED CAS 370Z STEALTH MAGIC BOX SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURE SUB BOX" you would no longer have trunk? cause this will practically take up all the spaces?

bigaudiofanat 08-25-2010 11:55 PM

If you go with that stealth box you are limited to what subs you can use, using a real box you have many more choices to use for subs.

I ordered a grill to cover the sub so I have a trunk. When packing the car for ZDAYZ (the most I ever put in the car) I will have something that can rest right on the sub like micros fiber towels etc.

The most amount of floor to ceiling room is towards the front of the car in the trunk. Most of the time if I have something big to put in the car it will go there anyway.

On a daily basis the only thing I carry is my laptop. Not a fail situation by any means.
