A little; however I have used JL in the past and have always liked the end result.

I guess I will go ahead and ask my first question without seeing the speakers. In my browsing around this forum it looks like I can mount the tweeters using the original tweeter bracket by tearing it apart. Is this true?

What would be a good way to mount the tweeter in the dash?

I like how you say you are doing the install by yourself. I guess I will be lounging in the house while you do it.

Well if I remember correctly from our last install, all you did was the dynomat and you made it clear you were not doing that again.:icon23:

Nick how did you attach the tweeters to the bracket?

SlikNik 08-24-2010 03:30 PM

Dude don't tear your bracket apart... Save it in case your want to reinstall back to factory. Just trace it out on a a piece of 1/8 thick plexi or anything and mount your tweeter to that.
Your system should sound sweet, you are going to love that amp.

Rogue370z 08-24-2010 03:32 PM

Where is a good place to get a piece of plastic to use?

SlikNik 08-24-2010 03:40 PM

Home Depot, Lowes
Draw it out, drill the holes you traced, and whammo, new bracket ready to install.

bigaudiofanat 08-24-2010 07:39 PM

You can tear the tweeters apart they go for 10 bucks on ebay or cheaper I doubt you will ever take them out and sell the car.

If you want to use new brackets than go to your hobby shop get some semi thick plastic and make them out of that.
