Default Escort 9500ci Installation Question

All, First time posting - been viewing for a few month now. I have a Roadster and had an Escort 9500ci radar detector installed. It has an external speaker but I've noticed that with the top down and the radio going, I have a difficult time hearing the alarms. I noticed in the Escort manual that you can connect the radar detector to your audio system. I have the Bose/Navigation system. The Installer did not include this as part of the installation and I would like him to set this up. I called him and he didn't seem to think it could be done - was open to any materials or information I had.

Is there a terminal/wire coming out of the Bose/Nav system that will mute the radio and allow the alarm to come through.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion or help.
